The French fabric house Tassinari & Chatel introduces the Toledo and Leonardo. Toledo is the re-invention of a classic. It was designed in 1865 and inspired by the Arts Decoratifs de l’Orient movement. The Moorish styled fabric is made of 100% silk fabric and produced in gold, blue and red on a deep amethyst satin ground.
Leonardo is a 16th century Italian style brocatelle from a document found deep in the Tassinari & Chatel archives. The oriental design of stylish flowers, scrolls and foliage is subtly worked with linen and raw silk threads giving an appearance close to chiseled velvet. The small checkerboard motif from the Leonardo design is woven in the same quality as other fabrics to coordinate with each of the colors of the brocatelle.
