Rooted in local Arabic culture, Mondrian Doha is the first hotel of sbe-group in the Middle East. It is the embodiment of Arabia seen through a modern lens, which in turn mirrors the modern reality of Doha, Qatar. Marcel Wanders was asked to design the interior after making the Mondrian Miami Beach into a successful fun place some years ago. In Doha he was inspired by local influences like the beauty of local patterns, ornate Arabic writing and historic souks, including giant columns with golden eggs, a ‘tree of life’ comprised of flowers, falcon video art, giant shisha, patterned carpets, ornate stained glass and intricate mosaic tiling.

Sam Nazarian, founder & CEO, sbe commented: “We are delighted to open our first hotel in the Middle East in Doha, Qatar which is one of the most dynamic cities in the region. Mondrian Doha will be an incredible destination for anyone planning an event in the city.”

Marcel Wanders designed the 270-room property and a spectacular 2,000 m2 ballroom, plus the flexible function and conference studios.
