Last week in between the parties of Art Basel Miami Beach, we found a small colorful pearl in the Miami Design District. Cathy Leff, former director of the Wolfsonian-Florida International University museum, curated the Mr. Somebody & Mr. Nobody pop-up store. The South African founders, Heidi Chisholm and Sharon Lombard, started their enterprise three years ago. Longing for the colors, sights and rich cultural life of their homeland, they created graphics, handcarved boxes in the shapes of airplanes, umbrellas, cardboard suitcases and the African fabric “Kanga”, printed with their designs.

Together with Belgium fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck and German fashion Designer Bernard Willhelm, Mr. Nobody & Mr. Somebody know how to set up something great. Hundreds of different colors, textiles, handcrafted objects and fashion pieces: it was an accumulation of culture. The World of Mr. Somebody & Mr. Nobody was part art show, part fashion store, part design exhibition, and part global bazaar. But for most it was creative fun.
