L’Auberge du Père Bise, Jean Sulpice, on the banks of Lake Annecy, has encapsulated the French lifestyle since 1903. This beautiful 5-star Relais & Châteaux hotel was taken over by Magali and Jean Sulpice in 2017, and pairs some of the best views in France with fine dining in the form of 2 Michelin-starred chef Jean Sulpice’s love for local dishes. Recently the rooms and suites were renovated and upgraded in collaboration with interior designer Émilie Bonaventure.
Magali Sulpice is the leading lady at the new L’Auberge du Père Bise , Jean Sulpice and wanted to enhance the homely spirit of the setting. A chance encounter with Émilie Bonaventure enabled her to start this new chapter. Émilie has been an interior designer since 2005 and presented her trade and vision to Magali. They get on like a house on fire. Émilie is a foodie and hedonist from Annecy with a wealth of experience from past collaborations with such names as the Frenchie family, Belle Maison and Rose Bakery.
A natural bond formed between the two women who shared the same values. Their first collaboration was in May 2018. Émilie was involved as an interior decorator working with the garden room’s which were designed by the Créa-Design company and their architect Xavier Salério.
Émilie Bonaventure gave these seven rooms rugs, fabrics, and contemporary and antique paintings to enrich the work that had already been done. She brought everything together and rooted L’Auberge in its pure vegetal world in direct contact with nature and the lake.
Émilie Bonaventure continued her work with Magali and Jean Sulpice by completely redesigning the lake view suites. The entire accommodation side of L’Auberge du Père Bise has now been completely renovated to make this a fully-fledged holiday destination.
