The house overlooks the Atlantic Ocean at Avenue Saint Bartholomew in Fresnaye, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. It has a natural spring and olive groves at the bottom of the garden.
A water-feature is running throughout the house where local artists are celebrated and custom designer pieces are included around the house. The Moondance Villa is a creation by architect Stefan Antoni. The brief for the architect by the owner Paul Berman was to dress the space and uplift the furniture and joinery items to be more suitable as a holiday villa.
“The basic idea behind the design was to highlight the architectural features with contrasting white and charcoal paint.
We used luxurious fabrics and leathers in reupholstering the furniture and scatter cushions. We added joinery items and tuned some of the existing joinery to benefit the spaces.”
The villa consists of 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies. The main bedroom also has a study and kitchenette. There is a large 180-degree gym, a wine cellar with a window to the pool, a steam room, a cinema, an outdoor braai area, a large balcony with another braai area, a formal lounge, a dining area and a high-tech kitchen opening onto an eating area and another lounge.Beside that there is an extensive indoor & outdoor Koi pond, an outdoor tanning deck and an outdoor lounge & leisure area.
